Here are some pictures of the prototype of the Carolinas’ State Day Project. Join the Asheville Miniature Enthusiasts on May 4, 2019, in Arden, NC for a day of fun with miniatures!
It’s designed as a saloon on the first floor with a bordello above but can be modified for nearly any kind of use. The front lifts off for easy access to the saloon and front bedrooms. The top and back can be covered with (included) acrylic – directions for making the covering are included.
The upstairs can actually be left as one large room, ideal for a classroom area if you build a quilt shop downstairs. Or the third wall can be eliminated so you have only the front two rooms, along with a larger living area – maybe a bedroom and kitchen for the parson whose congregation meets downstairs. There’s lots of versatility if you choose to make something other than the saloon.
While most of the members of the Asheville Miniature Enthusiasts Club have built their prototypes as saloons/bordellos, other interpretations so far include a general store, a bed and breakfast, and a ski lodge.
Join us for a fun day in lovely western North Carolina. Maybe spend the weekend and enjoy visiting the Biltmore Estate or hiking the many trails available. The NC Arboretum is a wonderful place to explore. Friday evening in downtown Asheville could find you enjoying drum circle or just perusing the various businesses. The Blue Ridge Parkway goes right through the area and leads to the Folk Art Center. There’s so much to see and do in the area you just might want to plan for more than a weekend! A list of hotels and attractions will be sent once registration is complete.
See you in May!
